Motorcycles, Friends, and Food

In almost that order.  I received clearance from HQ for a day ride on Saturday after a fairly rough week.  The day started about 10AM, early enough for me.  In true biker fashion, I set up the meeting spot with Scott as the I-240 Starbucks, where I dined al-fresco on a spinach and feta breakfast wrap while I waited.  Very moto-chic:

Scott Arrived Shortly.  As he has a "new" bike, (he's really had it a while, but the weather's been pretty crappy) and as we are going to ride with another pal, Jae, who has a new cruiser; Scott chose his sport-touring Kamasonki Concours for the job.

We decided to head northwest toward the Jae pick-up.  We had never traveled on Agnew / Villa from the far south side to the north side, so we did.  After a few stops along the way, we arrived at the home of our newest riding bud, Jae.  Scott immediately initiated humiliation procedures.

Then we headed west, where Jae showed us some of his family's farm land.  We ended up riding to El Reno for a Subway lunch, and then back to Jae's.  Here are some pics we took along the way.

I really liked this one!

Testing the imaginary ape-hangers on the 'Strom

A new bike after a number of years can make a grown man gitty.

Somebody spent too much time in that one country where they drive on the shoulder...

Jae had evening plans, and apparently so did my family.  Scott and I ended up covering most of the eastern half of the Grand Blvd loop around OKC on the way home.  We parted ways at O'Hare, er, the new On Cue on sooner Road and SE 29th, which looked like O'Hare as we were on final approach.  Great ride, fellas!

Fresh Meat

I had the opportunity to visit the Motorcycle Tire Store on S. Agnew in OKC yesterday to get my new Shinko 705 radial mounted on the DL.  $25 with the wheel still on the bike when I rolled in.  Super nice guys and they did great work.  From the stickers and hats everywhere, it does look like I possibly supported my local Outlaws.  Pics:
